Domestic violence and abuse can happen to anyone, of any gender, sexual orientation, race or religion, and can happen at any stage in life. It does not just mean physical abuse, and it can involve verbal, psychological, sexual and financial control.

You are not alone, and NDAS have services that can help and support you, whoever you are.

At NDAS we can help you to:

  • develop a safety plan
  • find a new home, or temporary refuge
  • find a solicitor and explore legal options
  • understand your legal rights
  • find the right support for your family and children, including support from our Children and Young People’s Practitioner
  • gain confidence and independence through 1-2-1 support and group courses
  • build social networks through support groups and activities.

The first step to getting help can sometimes be the hardest, but we are here to listen, accept and support you. To speak to one of our staff, call our contact line on 01434 608030 Mon – Fri, 9 – 4.30pm

This however, is not an emergency service, in an emergency, always dial 999. Northumbria Police Officers are trained to deal with domestic abuse.
