Silx Teen Bar works with marginalised and disadvantaged young people aged 11-25. We provide support to access employment and educational opportunities and also recreational opportunities that divert away from crime, alcohol and substance misuse. Based within Croft ward, the most disadvantaged ward in Northumberland and ranked within the 2% most deprived areas nationally (IMD2015), we help local young people with the problems they face living in this very deprived community and encourage them to take more control of their lifestyle. All of our services are provided free so that financial circumstances are not a barrier to participation.
